JUPITER, Fla. — The Marlins’ 2017 season is quickly approaching and they are desperate to find that ace in their pitching lineup. Even though they are still without that one stand-out pitcher, they do have a very solid starting rotation consisting of Adam Conley, Dan Straily, Wei-Yin Chen, Edinson Volquez and Tom Koehler.
On the offensive side, the Marlins are going to need Giancarlo Stanton to stay healthy. Stanton has missed 131 games over the last two seasons due to injuries, but he has assured fans that he will be ready to go. Stanton is scheduled to play in the World Baseball Classic in March and that gives fans an optimistic outlook that he will be back and ready to play when opening day comes around on April 1. Though it appears as though Stanton will start the season on a healthy note, the Marlins need him to remain healthy throughout the season, and if that happens, there is a very good chance that we might be watching the Marlins come October, for the first time in 13 years.
