Josh Bell, Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder and first baseman, may miss the start of the Pirates’ spring training due to a knee surgery he underwent at the end of January.
The 24-year-old rookie felt discomfort in his knee during last year’s offseason workouts. Pirates’ doctors believed that Bell had a loose body in his knee that was causing pain and recommended surgery.
CBS Sports reported that it would take two to four weeks for his knee to recover. With fans already nervous about this year’s rotation, only time will tell whether Pittsburgh can afford another injury.
