TAMPA, Fla.- Tuesday afternoon the New York Yankees signed Chris Carter to a one year/ $3 million deal.
Carter brings power to the Yankees line up as he hit .299, driving in 94 runners and sent out 41 home runs with the Milwaukee Brewers. Carter can replace former third basemen Alex Rodriguez, who retired half way through last season.
He will most likely be placed in the fifth or sixth spot in the line up for his power and ability to drive in runs. Last season he set new careers highs in hits (122), doubles (27), home runs (41), runs batted in (94) and walks (76).
This signing is perfect for the Yankees, especially when they are trying to have young prospects join the team. Carter can be more of a veteran leader on the team and guide the young prospects.
