SURPRISE, Ariz.- As spring training officially starts this week, pitchers and catchers will be reporting to Suprise Stadium this Friday to kick of the Rangers 15th season. The rest of the players will report on Feb. 20. The Rangers have built their team around young players. They prefer to develop their players themselves by working closely with them.
The Rangers equipment truck left for Surprise, Arizona last week, and is carrying over 600 baseballs. The truck carried additional supplies for the team, as well as the players personal items. Their spring training facility is shared with the Kansas City Royals.
While in the mean time the verdict on Mike Napoli returning to the Rangers is still out. If he does return he will be playing his former team the Cleveland Indians in the Rangers home opener on Apr. 3.
