Friday after acquiring him from the New York Mets for cash options.

Ynoa, 23, of the Dominican Republic, was called up to the majors in 2016, pitching a perfect 11th inning against the Padres for his debut win with the Mets.  His major league career consists of 10 games with three starts, 17 strikeouts and a 6.38 ERA.

Making room for Ynoa on the 40-man roster leaves catcher Francisco Peña designated for assignment, according to reporter Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com.

Ynoa joins the predominantly right-handed pitching staff at spring training this year.
