Jupiter, Fla- With the preseason under way, the Marlins are out to a rough start. After beating the Cardinals on Saturday, they have dropped their last two. In these three preseason games they have given up an average of 7.67 runs a game, leaving them twelfth in the Grapefruit League. So, even though it is still early, it is clear to see that their pitching and defense is having the trouble that most analysts predicted they would have.
In an effort to be optimistic, the Marlins offense is looking pretty decent. They have already scored eighteen runs through three games, which puts them in third for most runs averaged in a game. So, if the Marlins are able to figure out how to get their pitchers going, we could be in for a fun season. The Marlins next game is Tuesday at 1:00 PM against the N.Y. Mets. The Mets are coming off a win against the Red Sox and are looking to make it two in a row as the Marlins look to get back to .500 and end their winning drought.
