LAKELAND, Fla. – For those who find themselves in Lakeland but do not want to immerse themselves in Tigers baseball – an unfathomable proposition – there is still plenty of excitement to be found.
Lakeland itself is primarily a baseball town, but nearby Tama Bay hosts a variety of exciting events.
This weekend, Tampa hosts the Florida Strawberry Festival. The event features rides, exhibits and other daily entertainment. Admission costs adults $10, children ages 6-12 must pay $5, and children ages 5 and under are free.
For an additional fee, music fans can watch performances by Willie Nelson, Little Big Town and Three Doors Down.
Also in town is the Moscow Festival Ballet. The troupe will perform Sleeping Beauty, a classical ballet, on Thursday at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Tickets range in price from $35 to $75.
