DUNEDIN, Fla.- While a good portion of Dunedin residents look forward to spring training every year, I’m quite sure that there are a few people, myself included, that look for things to do outside of baseball.
Though Dunedin is a fairly small, there are a few events in neighboring cities that might be worth a short drive
On March 4, Tampa Bay’s radio station WiLD 94.1 will host an all-day music concert at Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater. A celebration of hip-hop music and spring break, artists like Migos, Trey Songz, Fat Joe, Kodak Black #FreeKodak, Russ, Amine and MadeinTYO are scheduled to perform.
Don’t like baseball, but maybe you’re a hockey fan? Watch the Tampa Bay Lightening and the New York Rangers go head to head on March 6 Amalie Arena in Tampa.
Love seafood? Check out the Safety Harbor Seafood Festival from March 10-12 for fresh seafood, live entertainment, children’s activities, and more.
On St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, it would only be right to celebrate with green beer, Guiness, and Irish dancers! Head to downtown Dunedin and stop by Flanagan’s Irish Pub on Main Street.
Of course, there are many year-round options, from Clearwater Beach to St. Pete Beach, and even Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island, which are only accessible by boat but are fully developed.
Check out the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, or The Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, which is featuring a Frida Kahlo exhibit through mid-March. If you’re in the mood for some more excitement, take a drive over to Tampa, and venture into Busch Gardens for a day of fun and rollercoasters.
