CLEARWATER, Fla. – The fine art of baseball isn’t the only way to embrace your artsy side in Clearwater this spring.
The area offers numerous cultural and fine arts events for visitors to enjoy.
On March 3, the Straz Center for the Performing Arts will present a “surreal concert for the senses.”
Musical pieces that inspired the work of artist Salvador Dali will be performed by the Florida Orchestra in “The Dali Experience.”
“Crafty Fest Market” in St. Petersburg features handmade goods by the best artisans in the Tampa Bay area for those who want to shop for art.
The ARTpool Gallery opens the market one weekend per month. The March market will be on the 4 and 5 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Festival goers can see artists in action at “The Bloom N Chalk N Art Fest.” The annual chalk art festival benefits a fund for local art projects and scholarships.
The artists have a chance to win in one of five categories: Wild Things, Most Likely to Hang in a Museum, Under The Seas, Mother n Child/Man’s Best Friends, People’s Choice or Bloomin’ Things. The festival takes place on March 18 and 19.
The Dali Museum is offering an excellent opportunity for art aficionados with their temporary exhibit featuring the work of Frida Kahlo.
The museum website advertises, “The exhibit will feature a collection of more than 60 Kahlo pieces including 15 paintings, seven drawings and numerous personal photographs from the celebrated female artist and influential icon”
The exhibit runs through April 17, 2017.
