FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Minnesota Twins recently shed some light on their 2017 campaign. Literally.
The club announced that it is installing Ephesus LED lights throughout the stadium.
In addition to the overhead lights, the bulbs within the stadium – those used for lighting concourses and seating areas – will also be LED bulbs.
According to a yahoo.com article, the fixtures have 100 percent dimming capabilities, are simple to operate and require no maintenance for several years.
Perhaps most importantly, the LED system is good for the environment. It will reduce the Twins energy use by as much as 75 percent.
As an additional bonus, the team says the LED lights provide a more consistent lighting atmosphere, so players will not be blinded by them or have them interfere on plays made as the sun sets and casts shadows.
