TEMPE, Ariz.- Many Angels fans started out the Spring Training season with high hopes for the Spring Training season, and it’s safe to say the team has been meeting most their expectations lately, but what’s happening next?
Nobody knows for sure.
In the 2000’s The Angels have only been to the playoffs six times. This leaves them in a peculiar spot, which begs the question- will they make it in 2017? Sure enough, their biggest blessing within the past five years has been Mike Trout. It’s no surprise that Trout is the best player on the planet- but is one player’s success enough to bring the entire team to the playoffs? Trout can’t do it all by himself, but he’ll certainly strive for greatness as he always does.
The probability of the team’s chance at playoffs will not only depend on Trout, but more heavily on the health of all the players, the pitching staff especially, said Mike Axisa, reporter for CBS Sports. Health is a problem across the board for many other MLB teams besides just The Angels.
As one of the best players in the league and a spotlight shining on him both on and off the Angels field- Trout seems to be thriving lately. Hopefully, he can bring the team more victories that they’ve had in past seasons, but he’s going to need help.
Right now, Angels fans can only smile and continue to get hyped about the season ahead.
