When it comes to the Detroit Tigers, there is one person who, more than anyone else, should throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
That man is Tom Selleck.
The actor famously wore a Tigers cap during episodes of his 1980s television show, Magnum, P.I.
Selleck is a huge Tigers fan. He was born in Detroit, and he follows the team religiously. Once, while studying to portray a baseball player on film, he worked out with the Tigers. He even batted for them in a preseason game.
Detroit’s roster is aging but still performing, and admittedly, the star has aged a bit too. He now stars on television as a police commissioner in New York City. But Tom Selleck, to millions of people, will always be associated with the Tigers.
