From one Angels blogger to another

Carlos Feliciano, a blogger for “Halos Heaven,” says he has been faithful to the Angels ever since he’s been able to walk and talk.

This past week I had been scrolling through the online community of Angels fans, comments and blog posts, and I came across many talented writers — Feliciano being one of them.

I noticed that he had been writing for this community for over a decade, so I knew he must be extremely knowledgeable on baseball. I decided to look through his past work on the website.

My pick for the Angels Opening Day pitch

TEMPE, Ariz. – Los Angeles is the home of rising stars and celebrities. As an avid reader of entertainment news and celebrity gossip, it only makes sense that I would pick someone who was born and raised in the city of Angels to throw the first pitch for the team’s opening game against the Oakland Athletics.

My pick would have to be Blake Lively. Lively was born and raised relatively close to LA. Being brought up by two parents already in the talent industry, she was bound to be successful from the start.

The actress has starred in many award-winning movies and TV shows, including Age of Adaline and Gossip Girl.

Luis Valbuena out for at least a month

TEMPE, Ariz.- In January Luis Valbuena claimed he was back to feeling like himself again after undergoing hamstring surgery this past summer, said a reporter for the Los Angeles Daily News.

This was after Valbuena signed a two-year, $15-million deal with the Angels.

However, on Thursday the Angels announced that the first baseman suffered from a grade 1 right hamstring strain and will be out for at least a month. This is the same hamstring that he hurt before that cut his season off short in August.

With Valbuena out for the next month as spring training draws to a close, it is likely that C.J Cron will become the team’s everyday first baseman, said the Los Angeles Daily News.

TEMPE, Ariz.- Many Angels fans started out the Spring Training season with high hopes for the Spring Training season, and it’s safe to say the team has been meeting most their expectations lately, but what’s happening next?

Nobody knows for sure.

In the 2000’s The Angels have only been to the playoffs six times. This leaves them in a peculiar spot, which begs the question- will they make it in 2017?  Sure enough, their biggest blessing within the past five years has been Mike Trout. It’s no surprise that Trout is the best player on the planet- but is one player’s success enough to bring the entire team to the playoffs? Trout can’t do it all by himself, but he’ll certainly strive for greatness as he always does.

According to the MLB Website, shoemaker was hit with a 105-mph line drive and had to undergo emergency brain surgery from his head injuries that he sustained during a game in Seattle last September. This stopped his season short as a pitcher for the Angels.

However, his injuries have not stopped him from starting throughout this spring training season.
